This page explains what this station records when you listen, and why.

Playback checks

When you press Play, the page tells the station whether the stream started, and while the low-delay stream plays it reports every 30 seconds how smoothly it is going, and whether the music kept playing when your phone's screen turned off: your browser type, which stream you got, and any dropouts. On phones, the page also asks the phone to keep its screen on while the station plays; nothing about that is sent anywhere. Like the session logs, these notes include your IP address. We use them only to fix playback problems and delete them after 90 days.

Hosts and staff

People who sign in to the studio console get one sign-in cookie. Live broadcasts and recordings of what aired are kept as the station's record.

Calls and guests

Before your call goes through, the call page asks you to agree that the call is recorded and may be broadcast, replayed and used in podcasts and clips, and the host asks again on air. We keep your first name, the topic you gave, and the times you agreed, were answered, went on air and hung up, as our record of your consent. Your voice travels straight between your browser and the studio; if your network needs it, our relay server passes it along without recording it.

Children

The station is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
